When Australian business consultant Daniel Davis learned about the Entrepreneurial Operating System®, something clicked. This was a simpler, improved version of the system he’d been trying to give his own clients. Immediately he was hooked. He asked himself, “How can I bring this to Australia?” At the time, he was just one guy in the middle of a reasonably large country, and he was on the other side of the world from EOS Worldwide. But that wasn’t daunting to Daniel!
We talked with EOS Asia-Pacific’s Integrator, Francesca Lever, to find out how Daniel successfully brought EOS® to Australia, and what’s next for EOS in the Eastern Hemisphere.
EOS Goes Global
Traction Tools: Daniel Davis brought EOS to Australia. Tell me a bit about that.
Francesca Lever: We are EOS Asia-Pacific. We have clients in Australia, Asia, and New Zealand. We don’t have any EOS Implementers™ on the ground outside of Australia yet, but we hope to soon. Our clients in New Zealand are working with Implementers who travel over from Australia.
Our main focus is developing the EOS Implementer community in this part of the world. We exist to find, train and support entrepreneurs who want to become master EOS Implementers. We also hope to have Sydney as the hub, as Detroit has been for the United States.

TT: Why did Daniel choose EOS?
FL: Daniel came across EOS during an entrepreneur’s retreat at Richard Branson’s Island, Necker Island. During the retreat, Daniel gave a business process presentation. Later, an EOS Implementer chatted with him and asked, “Have you ever read a book called Traction? You should read it, because you look like (EOS founder) Gino Wickman and your presentation sounded like Gino. Everything you just spoke about is very similar to what we do as EOS Implementers. You should check it out.”
He picked up the book and devoured it on a flight from Sydney to Dubai. As he read the book, he said, “This is exactly what I’ve been trying to create in my own consulting business. I can’t improve on this.” And the rest is history. Daniel connected with Gino, learned about the EOS community, and made the decision to go to Detroit and get trained as a Professional Implementer.
Daniel fell in love with EOS immediately, but he wanted to test it out in Australia first to be sure it would work here as well as it does in the U.S., because Australia and the U.S. can be very different in terms of what works.
Things ramped up really quickly from there. Daniel became one of the highest first-year performers in the history of EOS. And he found that people in Australia loved it. EOS was just so simple.
For Daniel, it’s all about simplicity. We came from a world of trying to help people, but it was quite complex. EOS makes it possible to do what we always tried to do, but in a really simple way. He’s a simple guy, and he loves the EOS Tools because of that.
TT: How many Implementers are currently in Australia?
FL: We have 10 EOS Implementers that are working in and around Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. And we’re growing each quarter. The core group that we have of ten, they’re just all aligned, all passion-driven, all collaborative and want to help each other, and just want their clients to do well.
TT: How have Australian companies responded to EOS? How much has EOS caught on in Australia?
FL: Anyone that we show EOS to, they get it and they love it. At this point, it’s just about saturation—going wider into Australia. Currently there are more than 100 companies here that are running on EOS with an Implementer. And we know it’s going to grow from there.
There’s a really big wave of interest in EOS coming from the United States. And people call me because they’ve already heard about EOS from someone in the States. Implementers have been doing a massive amount of legwork at conferences all over the U.S., so people who have been to those conferences in the U.S. come back saying, “I just heard about this great thing called EOS,” and they’re learning that we’re here. So they’re already learning about it and we have a solution, which is fantastic.
Also, people here are coming across the book Traction through Amazon’s recommended reading suggestions.
As soon as they hear about it and see it, they say, “Yeah, that’s what I want. I didn’t know that I wanted it, but I absolutely do.” EOS is universal, and the great thing we’ve found is that it works. We have not had to change a word for an Australian audience, and we’ve gotten the same kind of results, consistently. Companies are growing, and the flow-on effect of that is that we’re helping people.
TT: Any surprises as you began introducing EOS to your part of the world?
FL: I think just the pleasant surprise that it did work. We had some trepidation, because some of the language can seem quite American. It’s been great to see that the Implementer model works here, and it’s been great to find values-aligned target market people to be EOS Implementers, too. For me and Daniel, that was what we felt was our greatest responsibility—to try to replicate the community here. And we didn’t know if it was going to be possible.
I don’t know if you’ve met a whole lot of Implementers, but they’re a special people, and what they’ve created over there is phenomenal. I’ve been in that room at the private QCE™ (Quarterly Collaborative Exchange™) with the Implementers, and they’re all cut from the same cloth.
So we had a lot of responsibility to try to do the same thing here, and we’ve managed to do that.
TT: How does Implementer training work in Australia?
FL: In exactly the same way as in the States. They all have access to Base Camp, which is where all their core, technical training is. And we run Boot Camp the same way that (EOS Visionary) Mike Paton runs it. We have our QCEs the same way that they have it in the States, and we have our weekly collaborative calls—which, we actually use Traction Tools for that.
We provide everything the same as in the U.S., but it’s done by Daniel and myself. It’s basically a satellite operation of what they do in the States.
TT: Australia isn’t a small country. How are you getting the word out?
FL: We’re going to do some live events to share the EOS Implementer model in different cities. In August, in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, we’re basically taking EOS on the road. EOS Worldwide has typically just done webinars to share the Implementer model, and we’re going to do it live.
Here in Australia, we’re a very trust-based market. We do business with people we like, and we refer the heck out of each other. But there’s got to be that trust there, and that proven track record. These live events will help build that trust and rapport.
We would also love to do a conference for clients running on EOS, eventually. That could happen in 2019 or 2020.
TT: What do you expect to see in the coming years as EOS continues to grow internationally?
FL: I think we’re going to look back in a couple of years and say, “Oh, I can’t even remember when people didn’t know what EOS was.” And I hope that people are able to do better in business because of it. And also, for our Implementers to have this option of the EOS Life—that’s really important to us. It’s an exciting time.
I didn’t know what I was coming into, to be honest, when Daniel and I first started working with EOS Worldwide. I had no idea what I was doing, or how the concept of growing EOS in Australia would evolve! But what we’ve been able to create—and now I can see really clearly, that it’s this community—and how we do that, it’s just awesome. And I absolutely love it, and I feel privileged to be a part of it. It doesn’t feel like work to me.
